new york techno producer shawn o sullivan makes his return to l.i.e.s. under his vapauteen moniker. after an amazing release on avian as 400ppm and a collaborative effort on the corner with beau wanzer, here we get o sullivan turning down the bpms and slowly crushing everything in sight. the a-side provides three tracks of unforgiving modular slowcore beat electronics which trudge their way to the grave, while the b-side is strictly about power electronics and harsh tone work outs. sure to piss off someone on the internet or better yet, in real life.

brand new material by marcos cabral following his false memories 2xlp archive release earlier this year. on the capri social ep we see cabral offering three varying tracks all touching upon the outskirts of house, techno and beyond as he captures the energy of the machines to create effective and engaging psychedelic excursions.

after his epic split with black deer, torn hawk comes back with a proper four track 12 inch, opening with an almost balearic/tropical, someone put something in my drink and i am melting house cut. trapdoor returns to wyatts skewed after school special add cali-speed freak bastard child drum machine/guitar lush not lushness. we get more end-titles on the b-side, as both songs could be the soundtracks for a night hanging in a parking lot drinking boxed wine and snorting ajax while auxilary police circle, threatening to harsh your mellow ... good times to say the least.

a collaborative effort between marquis cooper (svengalisghost) and lili schulder (51717), this project was born in the winter of 2013. what can best be described as non-stop electronic erotic cabaret, the duo played a series of improvised performances which served as a structural backbone prior to the recording of this album. finished in merely two weeks, this 8 song double lp acts as a complete listening experience, engrossed in the down beat primitive electronics of the past whilst pushing further into the self-created anti-beat world of today. pulsing tones, off beat drums, melancholic vocals, and overall dark vibes characterize, but do not solely define what it is to truly trust in pain. mastered and cut by matt colton for maximum impact.

returning after some time off, two dogs in a house took to a secluded studio in stockholm sweden during spring 2012 to record while on the road. here we have the result of uninhibited access to machines with no time constraints and no distractions from the outside world. this freedom allowed the duo to expand upon their ideas of deconstructing conventional song structure and harnessing the power of what immediately surrounded them in the moment. two full side tracks that will absolutely crush and/or isolate anyone who crosses through the sonic pathway of them. perfect sounds for the apocalyptic world we live in.

new l.i.e.s!just when we had our doubts about the west coast, los angeles via nyc producer delroy edwards steps up with his debut release for l.i.e.s. musically edwards takes his influences from that barneys ghetto sound with oversaturated 909 shuffling highs, dx bells, 101 filters and ends up making fresh, and yes, melodic ghetto style tracks that somehow get stuck in your head even without vocals. a unique take on a modern classic with the dancefloor in mind.

michael ozone, the character whos just dropped his debut offering for the esp institute this july, is back with a remixed version of his jungle-tuff >perfect systems ep<. on side a, steve summers (a name thats been up in your face over the last year, and one of the key figures in our cousins l.i.e.s. camp) has taken perfect systems for an imperfect ride, jacking it up as expected while keeping the somewhat sinister mood of the original. on the flip, young marco (who has become quite a resident at the esp institute) strips down hetrotopia to its core, letting you realize how a well-programmed track can maintain its melodic and hypnotic sense, even when all thats left is percussion.

on this 12inch we get two very different songs, the lead cut being driven by 727s, jx-3p bass, and some sampled horns which make this a driving and funky excursion bring you back to another time and place. sketch iii clocks in at around 110 bpms and drives on and on and on, plodding through the depths of your mind while conflicting voices (mis)guide you through your trip. strictly for the freakz.tip!
